How can I safely hire the freelancer I need?
The HealthFreelance marketplace allows you to verify all certifications, licenses, education and references provided by the freelancer before making an engagement decision. Paying through the platform automatically enters you into our Payment Protection Program – you never pay for work not completed.
How can I communicate with a freelancer before I hire them?
The HealthFreelance platform provides a secure online environment to chat with your freelancer online and exchange files. We encourage speaking with your freelancer in all ways that are comfortable for you.

Are there fees to post a job or project?
No, at this time HealthFreelance is free for unlimited posts.
How do I see the freelancer’s time and logged activities?
Clients engage Freelancers with an hourly, fixed-price, or per visit contract. Freelancer’s log their activity via the method that’s most suited to the project; time, milestone or visit on HealthFreelance’s secure platform. As a Client, you see all your freelancers’ logged information in real-time.

How often will I get invoiced?
Invoices are automatically sent every week.
Fixed-price project invoices are sent at the end of project completion or up to five (5) milestones.
How do I pay my freelancer?
Secure payment is made with your preferred credit card, debit card, or banking account.
Is the payment processing secure?
Yes, HealthFreelance utilizes Stripe to securely connect and transfer payment information. No account information is stored locally. Stripe handles payment processing transactions for the world’s largest companies, including Amazon, Microsoft, Salesforce, Facebook, National Geographic, Nasdaq, Kickstarter, Lyft and more, with millions of transactions annually in over 120 countries.
Does HealthFreelance charge a fee?
HealthFreelance charges a modest, flat 10% processing fee to clients.
How does HealthFreelance’s fees compare to others?
HealthFreelance’s fees are much less than recruitment agencies. The average recruiter group charges 2-3 times the hourly rate of the freelancer and is typically built into the hourly and on-boarding fees charged by recruitment groups.
Who reports 1099 information?
HealthFreelance is required to report tax information. Your business should not have to file or provide 1099’s to freelancers hired through the HealthFreelance platform or to HealthFreelance.
How do I begin a contract with a freelancer?
Contracts are automatically initiated and kept on file once a Freelancer’s bid is accepted. All documents, including a copy of each unique Contract and invoices are accessible via your secure Client log in.
What if I have additional documentation for a Freelancer to sign or receive? e.g. a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), background check, drug screen appointment, etc.
Many healthcare businesses require freelancers to sign, review and/or confirm receipts of additional documents. HealthFreelance provides a secure messaging and file sharing platform between you and each unique freelancer.
Can I pause a contract?
Yes. Pausing a contract is simple. Pause a contract at anytime by clicking ‘Pause Contract’ in the workspace.
How do I end a contract?
HealthFreelance makes ending a contract easy and straightforward. End a contract at anytime by simply clicking ‘End Contract’ in the workspace
What if I have a disagreement with my freelancer?
Prevention is the best medicine when it comes to resolving disagreements with your Freelancer. However, many disagreements can be resolved by amicably talking it over with your Freelancer. HealthFreelance encourages you to use the secure messaging and communication platform to keep a record of your conversations.
In cases where an issue cannot be resolved, HealthFreelance provides secure Payment Protection for clients, ensuring that you don’t pay for work not completed.

Hiring and Finding Freelancers
Can I check the information the Freelancer provides in their profile?
HealthFreelance uses algorithms to complete an initial evaluation of all users on the site. Although we cannot investigate all the details of each user, we do encourage Clients to complete their own due diligence in checking the information made available in a Freelancer’s profile.
Clients can report concerns (or best practices!) in user profiles by contacting us.
What if I can’t find a freelancer in my area?
We’re expanding into new areas all the time! If you’d like to hire in your area but can’t find a freelancer, please contact us and let us know. We’d like to hear from you!
What is the rating system?
The HealthFreelance rating system provides a tool for Clients to find the best freelancers. All users are rated by each other at the end of a contract. The rating system encourages feedback on the work done by each Freelancer, along with constructive criticism on each freelancer’s strengths and weaknesses.
