Medical Coding Auditor – 3 month contract – Remote
SHIFT: 40H/week – may not start earlier than 6am local time
COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS: Candidate will be expected to complete typical compliance for remote workers in health care systems upon hire (including providing updated physical, background check, drug screen, etc.) in order to meet UC San Diego Health HR and Joint Commission standards.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Under general direction of the Facility SLR Auditing Manager, this position audits coding for Inpatient, Observation, Outpatient, and/or Emergency Department cases. Audits ICD-CM, ICD-PCS and/or CPT codes for patients receiving services at UCSD Health System. Responsible for data entry into electronic databases for use in the assessing quality of coding assigned by facility coders. Actively involved in communicating coding and documentation requirements to clinicians, and other who use the data.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: – 4-5 years recent Facility Auditing experience – RHIA, RHIT, or CCS
